This information can be used to alter the Deathworm's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor in the cheat console. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Deathworm will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Deathworm. This section displays the Deathworm's natural colors and regions. Due to their extremely territorial nature, very little else is known about Deathworm behavior. Resembling a gigantic worm (or perhaps a leech) with slicing mouthparts and clattering vestigial legs, these blind, nightmarish creatures have excellent hearing and will attack almost anything they detect moving across the dunes, bursting up from below to seize their prey. The ocean of sand surrounding the Scorched Earth is patrolled by the appropriately named Deathworm, a burrowing predatory invertebrate of titanic proportions. This variant is also much less powerful, with only 1700 health rather than 20000 It has a light blue color scheme with white appendages and grey claws. Any survivors in this desert should avoid Khorkoi territory at all costs.Īn ice-themed version of the Deathworm, found on Ragnarok inside the Frozen Dungeon. DomesticatedĪttempting to tame Khorkoi will almost certainly result in failure and a very painful death. Theoretically, that could provide a brief opportunity to escape its territory. The only chance of surviving a Khorkoi attack is if its initial lunge misses, as it's momentarily immobile afterwards. Khorkoi spends most of its time burrowed beneath the desert sands, exploding to the surface only to devour its prey in a single bite. It will devour anything that dares to set foot in the Endless Dunes, regardless of size or ferocity. Khorkoi is without question the apex predator of this desert. However, the "death" part of its name could not be more spot on. It shares some similarities to some segmented worms, namely the aquatic Eunice aphroditois, but it's biology doesn't seem consistent with other members of the annelid phylum. The trap cup is filled approximately halfway with a 50/50 mixture of propylene glycol and 70% ethanol, with a pinch of dentonium benzoate added to deter mammals from drinking the solution. The titanic Khorkoi arrakis is commonly called a "Death Worm" by the locals, though I'm not certain that it is actually a worm. A hexagonal steel cover, made by bending the corners of a equilateral triangle to form downward projecting points, is placed over the top of the nested cups to help divert rain. We either use three guide vanes placed equilaterally around the cups and sunk in the ground approximately 2.0 cm, or one guide vane placed between two pitfall traps. Each of the steel guide vanes used per trap measures 7.2 cm by 30.6 cm. Two cups, one inside the other, are placed in each hole so that that any rain water will fill the bottom cup and float the top cup upwards to prevent loss of the trap contents. Cups are placed in holes in the ground that are dug with a golf course cup cutter, which minimizes impact to the surrounding area. Each cup haa an inner diameter of 11 cm at the top, an inner diameter of 8.8 cm at the bottom, and a depth of 7.8 cm. The pitfall traps that we use consist of two plastic delicatessen cups, steel guide vanes, and a hexagonal steel cover. Pitfalls can be covered to help prevent excessive rain from overflowing the cup, they can have guide vanes that may help guide organisms into the cup, and they may be baited to capture more specific types of insects. Insects and other organisms crawling about on the ground simply walk into the container and then cannot get out. There are many variations of pitfall traps, but in its most basic form, a pitfall trap consists of some type of cup or other container (gallon bucket, for example) that is submerged in the soil and partially filled with a preservative.
